Eating just like the grown-ups EATING JUST LIKE THE GROWN-UPS children grow so fast… And as they do, their ap- petite increases, too. All of a sudden, breast milk and formula are no longer enough. And then parents need to find new inspiration. But how does one actually make baby’s first puree? What are the best things to serve so that the little ones get everything they need? Which vegetables are easy on little stomachs? We asked the experts. nuK has been occupied with this subject for many years: “Healthy nutrition is very important to us because a steady supply of vital nutrients is the best basis for growing big and strong.” Courgettes and Tomatoes with Potatoes and Millet Flakes5m + 45g courgettes 45g tomatoes 40g potatoes 7g millet flakes 50g water to soak 30g apple juice 8g rapeseed oil 1. dice the potatoes. 2. Pour water into a pot and bring to the boil. Add the potatoes. they should be almost covered by water. cook the potatoes at medium heat for approx. 10 minutes with the lid closed. 3. skin the tomatoes and cut into small pieces. cut the courgettes in 0.5 cm pieces. 4. Add the vegetables to the diced potatoes, and continue cooking for approx. further 7 minutes. 5. In the meantime pour the water over the millet flakes and leave to soak. 6. Puree the cooked ingredients and the soaked millet flakes with the apple juice and rapeseed oil until the mixture has the consistency you want. stir occasionally and where necessary add a little water.
