31 An inspiring life begins… hours of “rest”. Sometimes wondering what the sense of it all is, because I’d rather be home with you. But always full of happy anticipation when I get home. When I know you are sleeping it’s eas- ier. Then I can go to the gym again or meet my friends for a bite to eat. Daddy has a baby bottle for emergencies. And he thinks it’s great when he also gets one of your incomparable smiles. You even eat puree now. You were sitting in your chair and staring at our set table with such long- ing. So we cooked for you too. Exactly – your first teeth are also here already, they finally broke through after a few sleepless nights and want to be used. Another milestone in your young life. My Dear – I just know we will experience many great things together. We parents are there for you, we will sit by your bed at night when you are ill, put icepacks on your bruises when you learn to ride a bike, proudly accompany you on your first day of school, try not to cry the first time you go to camp, let you stay up late when your favourite film is on. Together we will climb up hills, swim in lakes, make campfires and gaze up at the stars. Ponder over physics homework, show you how to repair your skateboard and console you when your heart gets broken. You can be certain that we look forward to every minute with you and wouldn’t want to have missed a single moment we’ve had with you so far.
